Prolonged trichomoniasis infection leads to weak, debilitated, stunted puppies with rough coats.

Causes
Trichomoniasis is commonly found in association with poor kennel sanitation.
Diagnosis
The diagnosis is made by finding protozoan cysts in fresh stool.
Treatment
The infection responds well to Flagyl (metronidazole).
Prevention
Keep all kennels clean and free of feces.
