Condition Overview

This is a congenital condition among Weimaraners, Great Danes, Golden Retrievers, St Bernards, and other breeds.

Symptoms

The third eyelid appears to roll back on itself like a dry leaf. Corneal irritation may occur.

Causes

Unknown.

Diagnosis

Diagnosis is made by physical examination.

Treatment

This condition can be treated surgically if it is causing a problem.

There is no prevention for this condition.
